Blue Skies Pottery

An artisan ceramics studio that only sold at weekend markets. We launched a full online store with a custom gallery, checkout, and Google Maps presence.

"Audience reach" means the number of unique people who viewed the studio's online presence, measured over roughly the first 60 days after launch versus the period before it. The exact source breakdown is confirmed on request. Results vary by business, market, and timeline.

Where they started

Blue Skies Pottery had a loyal local following and sold out most weekends at the Bryn Mawr arts market — but their reach was limited to whoever walked past the table. With no website and no online store, they had no way to sell to past customers who wanted to buy again.

The solution

We built an immersive online store that brings the studio online: a full-screen gallery that shows each piece from multiple angles, secure checkout with automatic inventory tracking, a 'Commission a Piece' request form for custom orders, and a map-linked studio address for in-person visits.

  • Custom online store
  • Hand-crafted piece gallery
  • Secure checkout with inventory tracking
  • Google Maps and local SEO
  • Custom-order request form

What changed

Online audience reach grew about 180% in the first 60 days, and the studio can now sell year-round instead of only at weekend markets. The new Google Maps presence also brought more visitors to the physical studio.

The build, step by step

  1. 1

    Photography strategy

    Day 1–2

We planned a photo set with the studio — full-piece shots, detail close-ups, and lifestyle images — because great photography is the foundation of selling handmade work online.

  2. 2

    Gallery & shop design

    Day 3–5

We built a gallery that scales beautifully from phone to desktop, with a dedicated page per piece showing dimensions, clay type, firing method, and care instructions.

  3. 3

    Checkout & payments

    Day 6–8

We set up secure checkout, automatic inventory so sold-out pieces are marked instantly, and the custom-order request form.

  4. 4

    SEO & maps

    Day 9–10

We claimed and optimized the Google Business Profile and added LocalBusiness and Product structured data to help artisan and gift shoppers find the studio.
